The Jomolhari-Lingzhi trek is famous for its breathtaking beauty. The journey starts with an acclimatization hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery, followed by a trek through the diverse landscapes of Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Park. Along the way, you’ll see the sacred Mount Jomolhari, Bhutan’s second-highest mountain (7,314m).

This seven-day trek offers a rich experience for nature lovers, showcasing different ecosystems and biodiversity. The trek reaches 4,890 meters at Nyila Pass, passing through a nomad village, yak herder camps, alpine meadows, rhododendron forests, and glacial valleys. In season, wildflowers bloom, and pristine glacial lakes reflect snow-capped peaks. Ancient monasteries are found perched on hillsides or nestled in valleys.

The route is also rich in wildlife, with chances to see birds like the Himalayan Monal, Golden Eagle, and Common Raven, Bhutan’s national bird. It is home to mammals such as Himalayan marmots, blue sheep, and various wild cats, including the snow leopard.

This 11-day tour includes a 6-day Jomolhari-Lingzhi trek and 5-days of cultural sightseeing in Thimphu and Paro after the trek. This tour provides a well-balanced experience of Bhutan’s natural beauty and rich culture.

The tour package includes all accommodations, meals, and tea or coffee during the trek, along with a porter and pony to carry your luggage. Your trekking guide will carry a first aid kit, but we recommend to bring your own prescribed medicines

Day 1 - Arrive at Paro international airport

Drive to Hotel, relax or sightseeing depending on your flight schedules. Overnight stay in Paro. Overnight stay in Paro, at elevation of 2,200 meters.
Day 2 - Paro to Tiger’s nest for acclimatization
Day 2: Paro to Tiger’s nest for acclimatization
Hiking: Day hike for approximately 2.5 hours uphill to Tiger’s Nest. Tiger’s Nest is one of Bhutan’s iconic landmarks, perched on a cliff. The cave was discovered by Guru Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche, who flew from Singye Dzong in Eastern Bhutan, riding on a tigress, believed to be his consort appearing in the form of a tigress. Guru Rinpoche meditated in the cave for three years. The complex of temples were built in the 17th century by Gyalse Tenzin Rabgye. An elevation of 3,150 meters. Overnight stay in Paro
Day 3 - Paro to Thangthangka

Drive for 1.5 hours to reach Shana, traveling along the Paro River valley and passing through villages in the upper Paro district. The trek begins from Shana to Thangthangka along the Paro River, leading through cool broadleaved and conifer forests of Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Park.

Elevation: 2,200-3,750 meters

Duration: 7-8 hours, overnight stay in camp at Thangthnagka.
Day 4 - Thangthangka to Jangothang

The trek passes through deciduous shrub forests, yak herder camps, and alpine meadows, offering majestic views of sacred Mount Jumolhari (7,314 meters). Bhutan's second highest Mountain.

Day hikes to Jomolhari base for acclimatization and exploration of the surrounding area for Blue Sheep, Himalayan Marmot and Golden Eagle and Himalayan Vulture. Overnight stay in camp at Jangothang

Day 6 - Jangothang to Lingshi
Day 6: Jangothang to Lingshi
The trek begins uphill to Nyila pass 4,890 meters with the panoramic view of Himalayan peaks and descend to Lingshi through dwarf Rhododendron Forest and alpine meadow. Over night stay in camp at Lingshi.

Day 7 - Lingshi to Shodu

The trek ascends through alpine meadows and dwarf rhododendron, crossing over the 4,950-meter Yaklela Pass and descending to Shodu, passing by waterfalls along the way.

Trekking through deciduous shrub forests, agricultural fields, and coniferous forests offers a diverse and enriching experience for nature enthusiasts.

Day 9 - Barshong to Thimphu
Day 9: Barshong to Thimphu and sightseeing
Drive 3 hours to Thimphu capital city of Bhutan. Check into a hotel and relax. Elevation of 2,200 meters.

Visit: National Memorial Chorten, is a prominent religious structure and It was built in 1974 in memory of the late third king of Bhutan

Explore: Buddha Dordenma, a massive golden Buddha statue 51.5 meters tall, it is one of the largest Buddha statues in the world. Situated on a hill overlooking Thimphu city.

Visit: Takins preserve, Takin is a national animal, unique mammal with a goat-like appearance and is revered in Bhutanese culture and folklore.

Visit: Handmade paper factory, established to preserve the ancient’s Bhutanese tradition of paper making

Visit: Tashichho Dzong, Trashichho Dzong houses the throne room of the King of Bhutan and serves as the summer residence of central monastic body and administrative center.
Day 10 - Thimphu to Paro

Drive 1.5 hours to Paro and sightseeing in Paro

Visit: Kyichu Lhakhang located in the Paro valley, it is the oldest temple in the country. King Songtsen Gampo built 108 temples in the 7th century to subdue powerful demoness. In Bhutan, there are two temples built by the king Sontsen Gampo, Jambay Lhakhang in central Bhutan, Bumthang and Kyichu Lhakhang in western Bhutan, Paro. Both Jambay Lhakhang and Kyichu Lhakhang are not only revered as sacred sites but also serve as significant cultural and historical landmarks in Bhutan, attracting visitors from around the world

Visit: Paro Rimpong Dzong, Paro Dzong, also known as Rinpung Dzong, is a historic fortress-monastery built in 1646 under the order of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel, the unifier of Bhutan. It was constructed by Tenzin Drukdra, who served as the Paro Penlop (District Governor). Today, it serves as the residence for the monastic body and the administrative center of the Paro district.
